Goodbye Crib

The more photos I take and edit, the more critical I have become of my photography.  I am constantly questioning my edits...something I am sure I will always struggle with.  I have come to realize that expanding your photography knowledge and skills is a wonderful thing, but at the same time can be a bit of a problem.  I look at pictures now and immediately question the composition, the white balance, the focus, etc.  I can edit a picture and think it's perfect.  I walk away from my computer and when I return a few hours later to see that same picture I think to myself "what was I thinking...that looks horrible!"  This will always be a constant battle as I often compare myself to other photographers, something I shouldn't do.  I have come to the conclusion that my pictures are good enough for me and that is all that matters.  The white balance may be off, I may not have nailed the focus, and I may have a few limb chops, but at least I got the picture.  My goal is to capture beautiful memories of my children and that is exactly what I'm doing.  I want to look back at these pictures one day when they are grown up with children of their own and remember the days when they were babies themselves.  So to all my friends....snap away!  They don't stay babies forever!

After a recent climb and tumble out of her crib, we decided it was time to transition Gwyneth to a big girl bed.  Gwyneth was more than happy to help Daddy convert her crib to a toddler bed.

We were nervous about how she would adjust to the freedom of not being confined in a crib.  Lucky for us, she has done amazing!
